Mo Pop Festival 2017 : Day 1
I got a little bit of a late start, but I was able to catch the end of Grace Mitchell’s set and she was pretty awesome! She also was cool enough to do a signing after her set, which sent some of her fans over the moon.

Scoping out the scene at Mo Pop Fest is always fun, because there is so much to see. There are a lot of food and drink options, a craft bazaar, and even an arcade! Because, how cool is an old school arcade. I also LOVE The School of Rock All Stars. As a person who is just now taking up guitar lessons, seeing new artists rock out was fun!

After making the rounds, I checked out Amine, who was GREAT! His set was full of energy and had the crowd rocking the whole time. He performed his latest, “Wedding Crasher” which he has been performing on the late night shows.
I also had the chance to check out PVRIS, who doesn’t love a band with a woman guitarist! Rock on sister!

I absolutely LOVED Mondo Cozmo! As a new band on the scene Mondo Cozomo was a great addition to this year’s line-up. The songs spoke to experiences many people can identify with and they were definitely a fan favorite.

Phantogram is now one of my FAVORITES! The duo, consisting of Josh Carter and Sarah Barthel was on my list of must see artists, and I’m so glad I got to check them out! “Calling All” was one of my favorites, but all the songs had me grooving.

I have to say Run the Jewels was one of the highlights of this weekends festival, for me, and not just because they spoke on keeping your hands to yourself and not violating women! Their set was HYPE from beginning to end and their songs, while infectious also hit on social commentary and we all need that from time to time.

Many people know Foster the People for their hit, “Pumped up Kicks”, but the band has continued its rise to new heights and with their new album Sacred Heart Club they’re cementing their place in music. I saw them a few years back at Lollapalooza, so to see the growth in their music and stage performance is always nice.
