Can You Love a Place?

Flint, Michigan is the little city that could, and it proves it EVERYDAY. From its start with fur trapping to its humble beginnings as the birthplace of General Motors. The city has had ups and downs, stops and starts, beginnings and endings; and today marked a new beginning. The Flint Farmers' Market chartered new territory, as it opened its new location in Downtown Flint.

From vision to completion, the new Market has come full circle and encompasses what all farmers' markets should; fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, comradery, community, and most importantly - the people.

The new Market has so much to offer with many new food offerings including, Chef Nate's Wing Bar, a new florist, Floradora, and new food vendors, like J. Dean's Smokehouse.

The Market also has many old favorites, like McCarron's Orchard and Bakery and Thompson Creek Turkey Farm.

Now, there were many people who were saddened by the moving of the Market, but as times change, things must progress and get better. The new space is larger, easier to maneuver through with wheelchairs and strollers, and brings so much to the community ; including the Demonstration Kitchen, Community Room, and the VERY awesome commercial kitchen that will be available for people in the community to use to kick start new businesses. And simply put, THE NEW MARKET IS BEAUTIFUL! After seeing it, how could you not agree with the move!

We're looking forward to many more Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at the new Market. And while we will miss the old location and all the memories that were had there, we're looking forward to making new memories at the AMAZING new space! Find out more at flintfarmersmarket.com.
