Flint, Michigan has a storied past with boxing from Martin Pierce, State Golden Gloves Champion in 1977 & 1980, National AAU Champion, 1980 and member of the USA boxing team in 1980 to the Dirrell brothers, the Byrd's and the Wells; Flint's talent in the ring has never been lacking. So, when Claressa “T-Rex” Shields became the first woman to win the Gold Medal in Boxing at the 2012 Olympics; it was an exciting moment and one that had been years in the making.

This year with the release of “T-Rex”, Shields can add documentary to her list of accomplishments. At this year’s SXSW Film Festival they will present the new documentary that chronicles the life of the young boxer. Find out more here!
