The Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight has been a long time coming. With Floyd “Money” Mayweather (47-0, 26 KOs) boxing’s pound for pound king and Manny “Pac-Man” Pacquiao (57-5-2, 38 KOs) eight-division world champion finally coming together in the ring; counting down to May 2nd is essential for any boxing lover, sports enthusiast, and those that know a historic moment when they see one.

Of the fight Mayweather said, “Since the fight was announced, the response from the public has been unbelievable, and it’s even more clear that this is the fight fans want to see.”

With his impeccable record many boxing fans are riding with the Money Team, but Pacquiao is preparing himself for battle saying, “I will be ready for my date with destiny on May 2. I am very happy that Floyd Mayweather and I can give the fans the fight they have wanted for so many years.”

This boxing match is one that has put the spotlight on boxing once again and is helping to strengthen its credibility. We grew up with the crazy, knock-out fights of Iron Mike Tyson; so we know about the excitement surrounding the sport and this will be one for the ages.

Tickets for the fight, being held at The MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, have not gone on sale yet, but are expected to range from $750 to $2500. It will of course be available on pay-per-view, with HBO Sports and SHOWTIME Sports coming together to co-produce and co-distribute the telecast, which is sure to break any and all pay-per-view, live gate, and closed circuit records.

So, start making plans, saving your coins, and figure out how you’re getting to Vegas for May 2nd!
